Transcranial Doppler (TCD) is a diagnostic test that measures blood flow velocity through the brain’s blood vessels. Commonly used in the diagnosis of emboli, stenosis, and vasospasm following subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) from a ruptured aneurysm, this fast and cost-effective method is gaining widespread use.

Transcranial Doppler Dolphin TCD 4D is ideal for automated, long-term bilateral monitoring, especially in neurocritical care and stroke centers where consistency and hands-off operation are crucial.

Clinical applications

  • Routine cerebrovascular assessments: Stroke management; Vasospasm SAH; Arteriovenous malformations; Intracranial stenosis; Collateral capacity evaluation
  • Special tests: VMR / Autoregulation; Breath-holding test, PFO (Patent Foramen Ovale) detection, Sickle cell disease screening, Brain death diagnosis, Provoked blood flow testing
  • Continuous monitoring: Cerebral monitoring, Emboli detection, Carotid endarterectomy, ICP change evaluation, Intraoperative Doppler,Intraoperative TCD monitoring
