Esaote G-scan Equine is a specialized MRI system designed for equine diagnostics, with a focus on imaging under natural weight-bearing conditions. Unlike conventional MRI systems that require recumbency and general anesthesia, G-scan Equine allows horses to be scanned while standing, providing a more realistic assessment of joints, tendons, and ligaments under load.
This approach is particularly valuable in equine orthopedics and sports medicine, where many pathologies become evident only during weight-bearing. The system enables accurate evaluation of distal limb structures (hoof, fetlock, carpal and tarsal joints), while reducing anesthesia-related risks and shortening recovery time.
The system operates with a low-field permanent magnet and does not require cryogenic cooling, resulting in lower infrastructure demands and reduced operating costs, with stable imaging performance.
