Description
Beam technology delivers excellent image quality
MedixDR features cutting-edge 2D narrow-angle fan beam technology, based on a 256-element detector that delivers excellent image quality and short scan times-making it an ideal solution for all types of medical practices.
MedixDR is powered by Eazix, Medilink’s powerful software platform, designed with usability and efficiency in mind. Thanks to the reduced magnification and minimized parallax distortion errors typically associated with wide-angle fan beam densitometry, the 2D narrow-angle fan beam technology in MedixDR ensures that area, BMD, and geometric measurements are always accurate.
FEATURES
- Utilizes proven 2D narrow-angle fan beam technology
- 256-element detector ensures excellent image quality
- Full-size DEXA unit capable of whole-body composition scanning and regional bone density assessment
- Fast scan times: 11 seconds for the hip and 15 seconds for the AP spine in fast mode
- VAT – Visceral Adipose Tissue analysis
For cases involving multiple scans, the scan initiation menu allows for smooth and time-efficient tracking by enabling the selection of all anatomical sites to be scanned during each session.
- Perform multi-site assessments, including AP spine, forearm, hip, and dual-hip
- Measure bone mineral density (BMD), bone mineral content (BMC), T-score, Z-score, and area
- Whole-body scans
- Bone: mineral content, mass, and area
- Muscle: density, mass, and area
- Fat: density, mass, and area
- Body composition percentages: % fat, % lean, % bone
- Android/gynoid ratio
- VAT – Visceral Adipose Tissue
- Fat Mass Index (FMI)
- Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR)
- Color mapping images for visualizing density/fat distribution
- Automated Hip Structural Analysis (HSA)
Measure and Assess Fracture Risk Information
- Hip Axis Length (HAL)
- Femoral Neck Axis Length (FNAL)
- Intertrochanteric to femoral head center distance (IH)
- Femoral Shaft to Neck Axis Angle (FNA)
- Automatic ROI selection – the Region of Interest is selected automatically to reduce operator workload and enhance accuracy and reproducibility
Custom ROI Selection
The custom ROI option allows for BMD calculation at any selected location. Regions can be color-coded and consistently measured across multiple scans.
FRAX® tool
Estimate the 10-year probability of osteoporotic fractures and determine intervention thresholds using the integrated FRAX® tool.
Digital Vertebral Assessment (DVA)
DVA provides a low-dose lateral image for reviewing all vertebral levels of the spine. Deformities or compressions are accurately diagnosed, measured, and classified. This analysis can be performed automatically using Genant’s semi-quantitative classification, or manually using Genant’s visual grading system.
Pediatrics
The pediatric option enables the assessment of BMD, BMC, area, and body composition in children. Users can also calculate the Z-score and compare bone age using this feature.
Orthopedics
With the orthopedic option, Easix allows BMD measurements around prostheses, supporting intelligent implant management. It also enables measurements of the hand, forearm, elbow, shoulder, spine, hip, AP knee, lateral knee, and foot. Automatic ROI detection is available for hip, knee, and lateral knee assessments.
Advanced Morphometric Tools
Morphometric tools help measure and assess key fracture risk indicators across all available scan functions and support therapeutic follow-up.
Patient reports can be printed easily to ensure consistent treatment monitoring.
Combined Scan
Two scans (hip and spine) can be performed in a single operation, improving workflow efficiency and increasing comfort for both patients and users.
Twin-hip scan
Accurate comparative data can be obtained from BMD measurements in both hips, enabling identification of the lowest reading and providing the most complete diagnostic information.
